Hey students – Join us for summer camp at Student Life Camp in Glorieta, New Mexico on July 5-9! We will leave early on July 5 (by 7am) and return the evening of July 9 (by 7pm).  I know some of you are making summer plans already, so I wanted you to have those details. 

Registration for camp opens on Sunday, February 13.  A deposit of $75 will be needed to officially reserve your spot.  You can initially register without paying the deposit.  But you will need to pay it by March 27 when we have to close registration.  The camp is completely full at this time, so we are not guaranteed any additional spots.  So, make sure to register as soon as you are able. I will have to give final numbers to Student Life on March 31, so deposits will definitely need to be in by March 27.  They are also non-refundable at that time.  Text CAMP to 720-727-0700 to register.  If you aren’t comfortable with Church Teams you can also let me know that you want to register via email (sprince@kencarylchurch.com) or in person on Sundays/Wednesdays. 

The total cost for camp is $350 BUT there are a few ways to lower your cost:

  • Because we have some Lifeway credit, we are able to lower everyone’s cost by $25.  That makes the cost $325 before any other discounts.  
  • I strongly believe that your student would benefit from being in a small group during RENEW on Sundays.  Because of that, your student can earn $50 towards camp by committing to RENEW from March 6-May 22.  We meet a total of 9 times between those dates.  If your student is able to attend 8 out of those 9 times they will receive $50 towards their camp cost. To be fair, there will be no exceptions.  Don’t miss this opportunity! 
  • If you have multiple students going from your family, you can get an overall $25 discount for each additional child going beyond the first one.  For example, if you have 2 children going, you will receive a $25 discount from your total balance.  If you have 3 children going, you will receive a $50 discount from your total balance.  If you have 4 children (yes, we have families with 4 children in youth ministry!), you will receive a $75 discount from your total balance. 
  • We will have our Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on the weekend of March 6.  This is a great opportunity for your student to raise money for camp.  In the past, our students have averaged anywhere from $50-100 off for camp.  To get the full discount, your student must help setup on Saturday, March 5 from 4-5:30pm and then prep and serve on Sunday, March 6, 7:30-10:30am.  To keep it fair, they must serve at both times and be on time to get the full discount.  If they are late or only serve one day, then they will get partial credit.
  • Finally, we do have some limited scholarships available.  We want every student to be able to go to summer camp that wants to!  One important exception:  a family will not be elilgible for scholarship money that could have been earned at the Pancake Breakfast or by committing to RENEW.  We truly just want to keep it fair for everyone.  If you have any questions about scholarships just let me know.  Otherwise, make sure to take advantage of the RENEW discount and Pancake Fundraiser.  
  • During the first week of April I will give out Student Life paperwork that needs to be completed. You will have a month or so to get that paperwork done at that time.  
I am REALLY excited about camp and hope that you are too!  Glorieta is a lot of fun for our students.  We had a great time last summer at Ponderosa and I look forward to continuing that momentum at Glorieta in July!  Remember that registration opens this February 13!   –Scott
